Panasonic CO₂ heat-pump hot-water systems collect heat from the surrounding air and transfer it into stored water. Because the system uses electricity to move heat rather than create all of it directly, it can deliver substantially more efficient hot water than conventional electric storage.

We assess the household’s hot-water demand, tank capacity, outdoor-unit position, airflow, plumbing and electrical requirements before recommending a system. Our team then completes the installation, provides a clear handover and coordinates the Victorian Energy Upgrades process where the upgrade is eligible.

How a CO₂ heat pump works

It moves heat rather than creating it directly.

A heat pump draws useful heat from the surrounding outdoor air and transfers it into the water stored in the tank. It uses electricity to run that transfer process instead of relying only on an electric resistance element to generate heat.

We also install Panasonic's PHE-30ABR all-in-one heat-pump hot-water system. It brings the outdoor heat-pump unit and 300 L storage tank together in one appliance, with a built-in electric boost for recovery when required.

300 L integrated tank

The PHE-30ABR combines the heat-pump module and storage tank in one outdoor appliance, with a 300 L tank for everyday household hot water.

Panasonic lists a COP of 5.1 and a heat-pump rated input of 460 W under its published test conditions. Real-world results depend on use, climate and installation.

A 1,500 W electric element can support hot-water recovery when required, with controls and commissioning set up around your household demand.

The system uses R290 refrigerant. It must be installed outdoors with clear airflow and serviced by appropriately qualified technicians.
